Las Cruces, NM – This week the high profile violence in northern Mexico raged on, as the Governor of the State of Chihuahua, Jose Reyes Baeza survived an armed attack on his convoy; and the Mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Jose Reyes Ferriz moved his family to El Paso, Texas after receiving several death threats. Juarez has become one of the most dangerous cities in the world. More than 1600 people were killed in the border city in 2008, another 200 plus have been murdered so far this year. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports the unprecedented wave of violence has taken a toll on journalists as well, some have been murdered, while others are fleeing the country, fearing for their lives.
