A Chaparral family of two adults and three children was temporarily displaced Friday night after their double-wide mobile home caught fire and was destroyed.
Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched to the 300 block of Luna Azul at 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 18. Fire crews from Chaparral, Anthony, Chamberino and La Mesa arrived at the scene four minutes later, but the home was already fully engulfed.
It took fire fighters about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. Fire departments from El Paso and Otero counties also assisted at the scene.
There were no injuries reported. The Doña Ana County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause.
