Money Smart Week Comes To The Las Cruces Farmers' Market

Visitors to the Las Cruces Farmers' Market on Saturday, April 23, will see a sea of green shirts and balloons in front of the Rio Grandé Theater, where the official local kickoff of Money Smart Week 2016 will be underway.

The kickoff will feature giveaways, demonstrations, an inflatable money machine and calendars outlining more than 70 seminars coming up throughout the next week in Doña Ana County.

Proclamations approved by both the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners and the Las Cruces City Council will be formally presented.

Space is limited for many seminars. To reserve a seat in the seminar(s) that appeal to your needs, get a copy of the seminar schedule at the kickoff event or at mswdac.comand call the designated contact person for each seminar you plan to attend.

Financial institutions, not-for-profits, schools, libraries and many more community partners are joining together along with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas/El Paso branch to help support financial education during Money Smart Week in Doña Ana County, April 23-30, 2016.

Free seminars in both English and Spanish will take place throughout the Las Cruces area. The seminars are designed to be useful to people of all age groups and income levels.

Classes will be held at various locations and will cover a wide variety of topics related to money management, savings, navigating large purchases and how to read a credit report.

Doña Ana County Money Smart Week Co-Chairs Shirley Hitson and Kevin Wilson emphasize that residents of all ages and economic backgrounds are invited to attend.
