By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Former presidential adviser Karl Rove and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, a Texas Republican, are among the scheduled speakers at a September conference at New Mexico State University's Domenici Public Policy Institute.

The conference is Sept. 1-2 at NMSU's Corbett Center and will focus on financial reform, national security and the 2010 elections.

Rove will talk about the midterm elections along with Joe Lockhart, who was press secretary for former President Bill Clinton. Rove was President George W. Bush's top political strategist.

Other speakers are former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn, a Democrat and leading arms-control advocate.

The institute is named for retired New Mexico Sen. Pete Domenici.
