Motorists Face Possible Delays From I-25 Work

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — The Department of Transportation says a nighttime construction project could cause delays this week for motorists on Interstate 25 near Santa Fe.

The agency says northbound interstate traffic will be restricted to one lane starting Tuesday night on part of a hill known as La Bajada.

Pavement is being milled and new asphalt applied on the interstate for about one mile starting at the Cochiti exit south of Santa Fe.

The department said delays are possible through Thursday night. Lane restrictions will be in place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the construction.

The interstate is a main route for state government workers who commute between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Similar pavement improvements have been done on the interstate's southbound lanes in the same area.
