Multiple Arrests Made In Operation Targeting Prison Gang

Federal, state and local authorities in New Mexico have made multiple arrests while conducting a roundup that was the second phase of an operation targeting a prison gang.

The FBI says officers on Thursday arrested nine people while executing arrest and search warrants and that an additional 10 people were transferred from state prisons to federal custody as part of the operation.

Three other people remain at large. They're identified by the FBI as 36-year-old Shauna Gutierrez of Belen, 44-year-old Paul Enrique Rivera of Los Lunas and 40-year-old Leroy Torrez of Albuquerque.

According to the FBI, the operation targets the Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico Prison Gang. The December first phase of the operation netted the arrests of over 40 people.
