Alamogordo police and Air Force investigators are inventorying weapons, military ammunition and other items found in a storage locker to find out whether it includes government property.
The Alamogordo Daily News reports that police and Air Force Office of Special Investigations agents seized the unit Tuesday.
Police Detective Sgt. Roger Schoolcraft says the items seized included armor-piercing ammunition, military signs and a spotting scope as well as weapons.
Schoolcraft says investigators are trying to determine whether items found in the unit were taken from military installations.
Alamogordo is the location of Holloman Air Force Base.
