Museum Expands Veterans Day Free Admission to Include All First Responders

Veterans, active duty service members, and National Guard personnel are always invited to attend the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo free on Veterans Day but this November 11, the museum is adding law enforcement, firefighters and first responders to that list. Admission to the museum for those personnel, their spouse and up to two dependent children will be free of charge on Friday, November 11.

“This year, we felt it was particularly important to recognize not only our military personnel, but also to recognize all the first responders and their efforts to protect us and our communities,” said Museum Executive Director Christopher Orwoll.

Veterans are asked to provide proof of service with a Form DD-214 or a veteran’s identification card. Active duty service members and National Guard members will need to show a military ID card. First responders will need to show either a badge or other appropriate ID.

Free admission is for the museum only. Military discounts are offered at the New Horizons Dome Theater. The New Mexico Museum of Space History is a division of the NM Department of Cultural Affairs.  For more information, call 575-437-2840 or toll free 1-877-333-6589 or visit the website at www.nmspacemuseum.org.
