Museum Of Space History Ranks 6 Among Top 15 Museums In New Mexico

The top 15 museums in the state were recently ranked according to their star ratings and number of reviews on Yelp. The rankings were released this week by Yelp Albuquerque’s Community Manager, Howie Kaibel, according to a news article on KOAT 7, and the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo ranked high on the list at sixth place.

“ If you or any of your family are space enthusiasts this is a museum you have to see,” said one Yelpreviewer, while another commented, “This museum is actually a nice little hidden gem up in Alamogordo,” and, “Good for kids, including a Space Shuttle landing simulator, a space station mock-up, and (their favorite) space suits for playing dress-up.”

“It’s always good to hear that our visitors enjoy the museum and to have that recognized by Yelp,” said Museum Executive Director Chris Orwoll. “I think the kudos though go to our staff. Many have been working incredibly hard to update and renovate the museum inside and out. Our frontline staff should also be commended for their excellent customer service.”

The New Mexico Museum of Space History, a Smithsonian affiliate, is a division of the NM Department of Cultural Affairs.
