Names Of 2 Who Died In San Acacia Home Released By Police

Authorities have released the names of two people found dead in a San Acacia house after a fire last week.

New Mexico State Police said Monday that the victims were 59-year-old Anthony Romo and 89-year-old Vera Churn, both from Socorro.

Their relationship isn't immediately clear.

The remains of the two were found after the blaze north of Socorro was extinguished Wednesday morning.

Police investigators said earlier that the fire was electrical and it likely was started by two space heaters that were plugged into one circuit.

They also say autopsies concluded the cause of death for both victims was smoke inhalation.
