Native Son: New Book On Geronimo

In February 2009, Las Cruces resident, Carlos Melendres filed a lawsuit seeking to repatriate the remains of Geronimo to his homeland “at the headwaters of the Gila.” The account of the repatriation effort has recently been published, "America! Don't You Know Me? I'm Your Native Son: Geronimo, The Controversial Campaign to Repatriate the Remains of America's Most Famous Warrior to his homeland" was written by Melendres. The story of the repatriation campaign involves presidents, cowboys and Indians, national and international concerns, gaming interests, intrigue, and last but not least the shadowy presence of Skull & Bones, who allegedly have Geronimo’s skull at its headquarters. Edmundo Resendez spoke to Melendres about the book.
