Navajo Man Gets Decade In Prison In Child's Death

A Navajo man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say 34-year-old Mervin Ervin Charley also was ordered Wednesday to be on two years of supervised release after completing his prison sentence.

Charley was arrested in January on an indictment charging him with second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.

He was accused of killing a 2-year-old child on May 30, 2013. Details weren't immediately available.

Charley pleaded guilty in the case three months ago.
