“NEOMAGIC: 2016 Zuhl student exhibition” opens at the Zuhl Museum

Spirituality, technology and the natural environment from a student perspective will be revealed at “NEOMAGIC: 2016 Zuhl Student Exhibition” at the Zuhl Museum at New Mexico State University from Friday, Sept. 23 through Wednesday, Dec. 21.

An opening reception for the exhibition will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23at the Zuhl Museum.

“NEOMAGIC” is a student show running in conjunction with the “GEOMAGIC: Art, Science and the Zuhl Collection” exhibition, which will be on display throughDec. 21 at the University Art Gallery. Both exhibitions are supported by a $15,000 Art Works award from the National Endowment for the Arts

“NEOMAGIC,” the student show, features twelve art works created by undergraduates and graduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Exhibiting artists include Jennifer Abeyta, Debbie Jo Baxter, Maggie Day, Felicia Castro, Rachel Cover, Joshua Flores, Eva Flynn, Carissa Staples, and Lara Teich.

“With 'NEOMAGIC,' It was our intention to provide students with a professional opportunity to exhibit artworks alongside internationally-renowned artists," said Michelle Lanteri, Interim Director of the University Art Gallery.

The Zuhl Museum is located inside the Alumni and Visitors Center. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8-5 p.m., and the second Saturday of each month, from 12- 5 p.m. For more information, visit zuhlmuseum.nmsu.edu, or call 575.646.4714.

The University Art Gallery is located in D.W. Williams Hall. The gallery is openTuesday through Saturday, 10-4 p.m. Designated gallery parking is available.
