The new supervisor for the Lincoln National Forest begins his new job on Monday.
The Alamogordo Daily News reports that Travis Moseley was officially named forest supervisor on March 29th but he was the acting Cibola National Forest supervisor at the time.
Moseley needed to complete his Cibola assignment before transferring to the Lincoln National Forest.
The forest has had two acting forest supervisors since Dr. Robert G. Trujillo's departure in October 2012.
Trujillo took a position at the USDA Forest Service's southwestern region office in Albuquerque.
Moseley grew up in Los Ojos in northern New Mexico and has a range of experience with the Forest Service.
Most of Moseley's experience was gained primarily while working in Alaska and in northern New Mexico's Carson National Forest.
