New Mexico Man Killed After Semi Crash

Authorities say a Hobbs man is dead after his semi-tractor truck crashed and caught fire near the city of Loving.

New Mexico State Police identified the victim of Tuesday's crash as 48-year-old David Tyler.

They say the accident occurred about 2:45 a.m. on U.S. Highway 285 about 10 miles south of Loving.

Police say the semi-truck burst into flames after the rollover and Tyler was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say the cause of the crash appeared to be driver inattention and possibly driver fatigue.

Police say neither seatbelts nor alcohol were a contributing factor in the crash.
