New Mexico Man Pleads Guilty To Involuntary Manslaughter

A Fruitland man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with a car crash that killed two people in New Mexico last year.

Prosecutors say 28-year-old Farrell Bowman entered into a plea agreement in the case Wednesday.

They say he will be sentenced to 74 months in federal prison followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court.

Bowman was arrested in January.

He was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a head-on crash that killed two men in another vehicle on July 3, 2014 on the Navajo Nation in San Juan County.

Bowman has been in custody since his arrest and remains detained pending a sentencing hearing which has yet to be scheduled.
