New Mexico Police Chase Ends With Series Of Crashes

Authorities say a high-speed chase involving deputies in Bernalillo County resulted in a series of car crashes but without serious injuries.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Aaron Williamson says deputies noticed Adrein Roybal driving recklessly around 5 p.m. Saturday.

Williamson says Roybal fled from an attempted traffic stop and a deputy pursuing him became involved in a crash with another motorist.

He says a back-up unit on its way to assist then got into a minor crash.

A secondary deputy was in pursuit when Roybal lost control and hit a utility pole.

Williamson says Roybal was arrested but a female passenger was hospitalized for complaints of injuries.

Three children in the vehicle were treated and released at the scene.

Roybal is wanted on parole violations and is now facing aggravated fleeing charges.
