New Mexico Police Say Woman's Foot Severed During Car Crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police says a bystander attempted to save the severed foot of a woman injured in a car crash by placing the foot in a freezer.

KOAT-TV reports the woman and her boyfriend were hit by a car as they were standing outside an apartment complex on Tuesday. Police say the woman's foot was severed during the incident.

Simon Drobik with the Albuquerque Police Department says the woman and her foot were transported to the hospital, where the woman underwent surgery. Police are searching for the car involved in the crash.
