Authorities say a northern New Mexico convenience store owner shot and wounded a Santa Fe man during an armed robbery.
According to the New Mexico State Police, the incident occurred Saturday in San Jose, about 20 miles south of Las Vegas.
A State Police statement says store owner Glen Post shot 26-year-old Zebadiah Romero with a handgun after Romero allegedly threatened people in the store with a rifle, took the cash drawer and shot at Post.
State Police arrested the wounded man and found a stolen vehicle near the store.
According to State Police, Romero was jailed after being treated at a hospital. He's accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery and embezzlement of a stolen vehicle.
It's not known whether he has a lawyer.
