KRWG News – ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRWG) The new head of the New Mexico Spaceport Authority has cancelled a $1.3 million contract with a firm that has overseen much of the facility's development.
The Albuquerque Journal reports in a copyrighted story that spaceport Executive Director Christine Anderson wants the work overseeing the development done by state workers.
She confirmed to the paper that she cancelled the contract signed last October with Albuquerque-based Procurement Solutions 14 months before it was set to expire.
Procurement Solutions owner Mike Holston has been in essence the second-in-command at the facility 40 miles outside Las Cruces. He oversaw major aspects of the project from design to planning to construction.
