News Brief: Re-opening of Quemado Lake Recreation Area

Las Cruces, NM – The Gila National Forest is re-opening the Quemado Lake Recreation Area, after having to shut down after three black bears entered the camp grounds. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish removed the last bear on Thursday by using traps, patrols and dogs. District Ranger John Pierson, says the black bears came for the food and trash people leave behind or don't put away properly.
