KRWG News – SANTA FE, N.M. (KRWG) The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish says hunters have until March 28 to enter a drawing for 2011-2012 big game licenses.
The agency says the deadline is earlier this year so hunters can take advantage of discounts for buying combination hunting and fishing licenses.
Department officials expect more than 130,000 applications for about 62,500 licenses for deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, Barbary sheep, ibex and javelina.
Paper applications must be postmarked on or before March 28 or delivered to the agency's Santa Fe office by 5 p.m. March 28.
The deadline to apply online is also 5 p.m. March 28.
Late applications will not be accepted.
