A New Mexico youth football league president and his wife have had their initial court appearances after being accused of manufacturing and distributing child pornography.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests last Friday of 42-year-old Fredrick Gonzales and 36-year-old Carey Gonzales after a four-month investigation.
The couple was in court Tuesday. They have their detention hearings scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Sheriff's officials say Fredrick Gonzales presides over the Young America Football League for the Albuquerque District.
They say Carey Gonzales works as a teacher's assistant at Montezuma Elementary School.
Authorities say a search of the couple's home produced several computers and digital media that contained child porn images.
They say the couple allegedly has admitted to viewing the images. The children in the images haven't been identified yet.
