NM Forester Appointed To National Committee

New Mexico Forester Tony Delfin has been appointed to a national committee that focuses on wildfires, natural disasters and other forest public policy matters.

Delfin will join seven new members on the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Resource Coordinating Committee. His term will last from one to three years.

The committee is made up of foresters, wildlife specialists and conservation experts from across the country.

Delfin says he's looking forward to sharing some of the practices used in New Mexico to help landowners enhance the productivity and health of their forests.

A Silver City native and graduate of Western New Mexico University, Delfin has served as the state's top forestry official since 2011.
