NM MVD Not Offering All Services On Monday

By KRWG News

New Mexico – Anyone planning to get a new driver's license or identification card on Monday will have to wait.

The state Taxation and Revenue Department says a mandatory systems upgrade will prevent you from doing so.

The suspension of services applies to new and renewed regular and commercial driver's licenses. Motor Vehicle Division offices will be open statewide Monday for other services, such as vehicle registrations and road tests.

Privately run MVD outlets won't be able to issue new licenses or renewals from noon Saturday until early Tuesday.

State officials are encouraging people whose driver's licenses expire over the weekend or on Monday to get new ones earlier.
