NM Receives Early Childhood Grant

By KRWG News

New Mexico – Lieutenant Governor Diane Denish says the W. K. Kellogg Foundation has given New Mexico a $400,000 grant to support early childhood education.

Denish says the grant will be used to establish the New Mexico Early Childhood Partnership.

The partnership between her office and the United Way of Santa Fe County will develop expanded public financing strategies for early childhood development in the state.

Denish says the partnership will work to find permanent funding for early childhood programs.

She says the programs will provide optimal development, health, social and emotional growth for children younger than five years old.
