NMSU AFROTC Car Show Saturday

New Mexico State University's Air Force ROTC will host its annual auto show to raise funds for the Disabled American Veterans from noon-4 p.m. April 27 in the Pan American Center parking lot.

The 2013 DAV Car Show will be judged by veterans and they will determine first-, second- and third-place trophy awards in 10 different classes including muscle, euro and best overall. A majority of the proceeds from the show will go to the DAV.

"It is important to support our veterans because they made a sacrifice to serve and defend our country," said Jasmine Lerma, NMSU cadet. "They have done so much for us, which often goes unnoticed, and by supporting our veterans we can give back to them."

The DAV is an organization for disabled military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces that helps disabled veterans and their families through various means.

Preregistration for the car show costs $20 and will be open until 5 p.m. on April 26. Those interested can pick up a registration form on the second floor of Young Hall in the AFROTC offices on the NMSU campus. Registration will also take place prior to the event, from noon-2 p.m. for $25 at the Pan Am parking lot.
