NMSU Announces Tailgating Procedures For Aggie-Lobo Football Game

The fight for in-state bragging rights will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Aggie Memorial Stadium when New Mexico State University hosts the University of New Mexico in the annual football game. NMSU has announced modified tailgating procedures for fans attending the game.

For the UNM game only, fans will be allowed to park RVs in lot 30 (east Pan American Center parking lot) starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. All vehicles, including RVs, must be parked within parking stalls as marked.

Gates to the stadium will open at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, and NMSU encourages fans to arrive early for the rivalry game.

For the remaining home games, parking for tailgating is allowed at 7 p.m. on the day prior to game day. As always, all vehicles, including RVs, must be parked within parking stalls as marked.

General public tailgating is allowed in lot 29 (north Pan American Center parking lot), lot 30 and lot 105 (north of the tennis center). The north area of lot 30 is designated for alcohol-free tailgating. Tailgating also is allowed in pass-controlled parking areas in lots 33, 38, 39, 40, 83, 86, 87 and 88 as well as in the grass areas in and around these lots.

On game day, tailgating is allowed from 11 a.m. until midnight. In lot 30 only, tailgating is permitted the day before games from 6-10 p.m. Tailgating is not allowed during games.

Tailgating will conclude at kickoff and fans will be required to enter the stadium. Following the conclusion of the game, the tailgating lots will be open until midnight. For questions or concerns during the game, fans can call 646-GAME (4264) or text 386-WINS (9467).

Political activities such as campaigning, signs, petitions and handing out literature are allowed in the newly designated area near the intersection of Arrowhead Drive and Stewart Street. Groups or individuals interested in a space in the political activities area need to contact NMSU Campus Activities at 575-646-3200.
