NMSU To Host Great Conversations

Las Cruces, NM – THE HONORS COLLEGE AT NMSU IS HOSTING THE FOURTH ANNUAL "GREAT CONVERSATIONS" EVENT.
THE COMMUNITY IS INVITED TO ATTEND THE DINNER PARTY-LIKE EVENT, WHICH FEATURES A VARIETY OF TOPICS HOSTED BY EXPERTS FROM THE NMSU FACULTY AND PROMINENT RESIDENTS OF LAS CRUCES. PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HONORS COLLEGE STUDENTS.
CONVERSATION TOPICS WILL INCLUDE GLOBAL WARMING, IRANIAN NUCLEAR POLICY, SPACEPORT AMERICA, THE ART OF GEORGIA O'KEEFE, THE WINE INDUSTRY IN NEW MEXICO, THE PSYCHOLOGY OF MARKETING, THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IN AMERICA, SHAKESPEARE ON FILM, THE HISTORICAL JESUS, AND GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS.
EACH TABLE SEATS TEN AND ATTENDEES CHOOSE THE DESIRED TOPIC WHEN REGISTERING IN ADVANCE ONLINE. SEAT AVAILABILITY IS BEING UPDATED DAILY.
THE EVENT HAS CREATED AN ENDOWMENT VALUED AT MORE THAN $80,000 THAT PROVIDES FUNDS FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS. SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS HAVE CONDUCTED RESEARCH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, BOLIVIA, MEXICO, GERMANY, CHILE AND THE CZECH REPUBLIC.
