The New Mexico State University Board of Regents will celebrate the appointment of GarreyCarruthers as the 27th president at a reception from 10-11 a.m. Friday, May 10, in the lobby of Hadley Hall.
The community and the campus are invited to attend and say hello or meet President Carruthers. Refreshments will be served.
Following Carruthers' selection May 6, Regents Chair Mike Cheney said, "Garrey uniquely represents many NMSU stakeholders. He was a student at NMSU, member of the faculty and he is a generous donor to the university and has valuable experience with the state legislative process. I am proud to have an alumnus lead the university and I am confident in Garrey's commitment to the great land-grant tradition."
