Programs that are available for natural resource management and drought assistance will be discussed during the Tuesday, July 23, Rancher's Roundtable at New Mexico State University's Southwest Center for Rangeland Sustainability in Corona.

"There are various programs to assist agricultural producers financially during the drought," said Shad Cox, superintendent of NMSU's Corona Range and Livestock Research Center. "We have assembled a panel of representatives from various federal and state agencies to explain the availability of these programs."

Panel members will include Stephanie Bason, Upper Hondo Soil and Water Conservation District in Capitan; Larry Dominguez, New Mexico Department of Agriculture in Las Cruces; Paul Gutierrez, NMSU Extension economics specialist; John Heckendorn, vice president of Ag New Mexico in Belen; Lawrence Rael, U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency's executive director; and Cliff Sanchez, USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service's assistant state conservationist for programs. Leigh Ann Marez, NMSU's Guadalupe County Cooperative Extension Service agricultural agent, will be the moderator of the event.

The program will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be served. For directions to the center, visit the Corona Range and Livestock Research Center's website at www.coronasc.nmsu.edu.
