The Board of Directors for New Mexico State University’s Aggie Development Incorporated will meet at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, in Hadley Hall, Room 130, to hear a presentation from a real estate developer regarding construction and operation of a hotel property on the NMSU campus, located west of the Las Cruces Convention Center. Following the presentation, the board is expected to vote on the proposal.

For a number of years, the university has worked to develop a third-party hotel property on campus for the benefit of the community as well as students. In 2014, the NMSU Board of Regents created Aggie Development to better manage and develop the university’s land and property assets. Last year the Board of Regents approved a land lease with Aggie Development Incorporated to pursue the hotel project. In addition to the hotel, Aggie Development continues to work to develop other properties near the Las Cruces campus.
