'Occupy Socorro' To Hold Protest In Plaza

Socorro, New Mexico – SOCORRO, N.M. (KRWG) Members of Socorro's version of the national protests against Wall Street are slated hold their own protest in the city's plaza.

Organizers announced that protesters are scheduled Thursday to hold a rally joining "Occupy" protesters in other New Mexico towns and cities.

"Occupy Santa Fe," for example, has planned a series of teach-ins Sunday at it permanent protest encampment site at the Railpark.

In addition, members of "(Un)Occupy Albuquerque" are slated to hold a "mock auction" of foreclosed homes next week on the steps of a courthouse in downtown Albuquerque.

Other upcoming "Occupy" events are planned in Espanola and Farmington.
