A Texas congressman says the FBI will investigate criminal allegations involving the scheduling of patients at the Veterans Affairs facility in Temple.
U.S. Rep. John Carter said Wednesday that he's spoken to FBI Director James Comey and secured an agency investigation into the Central Texas facility. It is one of many across the country facing allegations that patients had appointments delayed or canceled.
Michelle Lee, spokeswoman for the FBI office in San Antonio, said Thursday that Carter's office had turned over information to the FBI, but she could not immediately confirm an investigation.
Carter, a Round Rock Republican, accused the Obama administration of helping to "create a culture in the VA that puts the bureaucrat before the vet."
