New Mexico – New Mexico's Democratic and Republican parties each raised about $200,000 during the past six months as they prepared for a critical election season in the state.
The Democratic Party's state campaign committee collected about $214,000 and the GOP raised $192,000 from October through April 5, according to the latest financial disclosures filed with the secretary of state's office.
The oil and natural gas industry contributed about $107,000 to the Republican Party.
Labor unions contributed nearly $66,000 to the Democrats, with a union representing state, county and municipal workers providing $40,000.
New Mexico will elect a new governor in this year. Other statewide offices, such as attorney general, also are up for election.
