One Arrest, At Least One Other Suspect Sought In Las Cruces Nightclub Beating

  Las Cruces Police have arrested one of the men suspected of beating a 30-year-old April 17 outside a local nightclub.

Gregory Trevor Derouen, 26, of the 1800 block of Myrtle Avenue, is charged with one count each of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and conspiracy. Derouen was also found to be in violation of his probation. He is being held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.

At around closing time, between 1:30 to 2 a.m., on Friday, April 17, a 30-year-old man was in the parking lot of Q-Time, 1201 E. Amador Ave., when he was attacked by two or three men. The suspects inflicted severe damage to the victim’s face and head. The victim got a ride home from a friend but was subsequently airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso where he has undergone several surgeries.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify one or two other suspects who assisted Derouen on April 17.
