Federal authorities say they've arrested a man who's considered one of New Mexico's most wanted violent fugitives.

A U.S. Marshals task force arrested 27-year-old Angelo Deshannon Burdex in northwest Albuquerque on Thursday.

State authorities had issued a warrant for Burdex's arrest on July 1.

He was accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery, aggravated assault on a household member and felon in possession of a firearm.

Burdex who was arrested last year by the U.S. Marshal's task force but fled from justice again.

Federal authorities began investigating Burdex's fugitive case last month and a picture of him went on billboards around New Mexico.

They received dozens of tips from the public with sightings of Burdex.
