New Mexico – Lt. Gov. Diane Denish is unveiling an online state database that will allow the public to view all large state contracts.
Denish says the site, which passed the Legislature in 2009 with bipartisan support, tracks state contracts of $20,000 or more.
The Web site can be found at http://contracts.gsd.state.nm.us starting Friday.
Users can send messages to the site if they need assistance viewing or searching for information.
Denish says the online database marks a new day for openness and transparency in New Mexico government.
Denish vows to put the state's entire checkbook online for public viewing.
