Las Cruces, NM – Earlier this week a settlement was reached between the Otero County Sheriff's Department, the ACLU of New Mexico and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund over allegations that the department committed civil rights violations by conducting immigration sweeps. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, the department denied any wrongdoing but did agree to change their Standard Operating Procedures as part of the settlement.
