November 21, 2011 – Part Two - Emily Guerra bridges the community on this edition of PUENTES with Tanzy Alexander Bird, Curator and Co-owner of the Gadsden Museum in Mesilla, New Mexico celebrating the museum's 80th anniversary. The museum is a historical tribute to the United States, the State of New Mexico, the Mesilla Valley and Dona Ana County. The museum is dedicated to Colonel Albert Jennings Fountain, and to five generations of family history. Bird is a descendant of Colonel Fountain; he was the defense attorney for Billy the Kid in 1881. The 80 year old museum is located in the Fountain family home built in 1875. In Part Two, Ms. Bird continues with the tour of the museum, starting with The Hermit-Juan Maria Justinaiani; family paintings; and a collection of religious artifacts.
