Congressman Steve Pearce is in southern New Mexico this week. And tonight on KRWG-TV, he’ll address a number of issues, including immigration reform.
Pearce told KRWG-TV’s Fronteras: A Changing America, that he supports guest worker program….but not a path to citizenship for those here illegally.
When asked if he was comfortable with the end result of that plan…millions of people who cannot vote…Pearce said in part, “People every day don’t vote, they’re not involved.”
Pearce says….he believes a guest worker program would pass the House….but he does not offer hope for the comprehensive reform plan that passed the Senate….a bill he calls quote “amnesty” for its program to offer a pathway to citizenship that would take more than a decade.
You can hear more from Pearce tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 on KRWG-TV’s Fronteras: A Changing America.
