Commentary: Congressman Steve Pearce today announced a $1,450,000 grant through the U.S. Department of Transportation for the purchase of battery-electric buses as part of the Low or No-Emission Vehicle (Low-No) Competitive Program.
“This money will help improve the public transportation system in Las Cruces. As the city continues to grow, so does the need to improve and increase public transportation to provide another avenue for people to get to work, to visit their friends and family, and ultimately to more easily move around the community,” stated Rep. Pearce. “It is essential New Mexican cities continue working to improve infrastructure to meet the growing demands of the community and compete nationally for investment and economic growth.”
