Pearce: Honor The 70th Anniversary Of D-Day

Rep. Steve Pearce (R) New Mexico

Today, we remember and honor the 70th anniversary of D-Day, when more than 160,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower called the crusade one in which, “we will accept nothing less than full victory.”

“Today, we honor the servicemen who faced insurmountable odds as the cooperative airborne and amphibious assault on Normandy Beach began Operation Overlord. Through their valor, perseverance and everlasting commitment to freedom, the liberation of France was secured and efforts were furthered for the eventual Allied victory during WWII,” said Congressman Steve Pearce. “On this 70th anniversary of D-Day, we remember those who sacrificed their lives securing the freedoms we hold so dear. Their memory lives through us, and stands as a testament of the undying will of America’s bravest heroes. Let us never forget their courage or their sacrifice.”
