Pearce Plans Women's Forum In Las Cruces

Today, U.S. Congressman Steve Pearce announced that he will host a Women’s forum in Las Cruces, to discuss important community and family issues.  The forum will be held on Saturday, August 17th, at the Las Cruces Home Builders Association Meeting Hall, 2825 N. Main St., Las Cruces.  And, a virtual component will allow women to watch and participate from throughout New Mexico.  Registration will open at 8:00 am; the forum will begin at 8:30 am.  Women of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Those interested should RSVP to 575-522-0771.

“Women are increasingly the decision-makers in our families, our communities, and our government,” said Pearce, “and it is important that they have the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn, and grow together, for the benefit of New Mexico and of our nation.  I look forward to productive and informative discussion, and I will continue working closely with the female leaders in our communities to discuss their ideas, concerns, and priorities.”

Pearce held a similar forum last year.  His office has since organized roundtable meetings with women around the state, to discuss key issues and receive feedback for this event.  This year’s forum will feature several guest speakers who will lead two panel discussions: Health and Wellbeing, and Financial Planning.  Pearce's office says the topics were selected as priorities in meetings with women throughout southern New Mexico.

The event will also be live-streamed, and women unable to attend in Las Cruces are encouraged to participate remotely through Twitter using the hashtag #NMWomen, on Facebook at  www.Facebook.com/RepStevePearce, or by emailing questions to NMWomensForum@gmail.com.  Questions submitted from women throughout the state will be addressed live by panelists during the forum.  Details, remote-participation links, and live-streaming are available at www.pearce.house.gov/womensforum.
