Pearce Spokesman: Lara Ad Is False

Today Democrat Roxanne Lara released a negative TV ad called "picnic." In the ad she uses misleading votes to falsely attack Congressman Steve Pearce.
 
Pearce spokesman Rob MacGregor said, "Democrat Roxanne Lara unveiled her 100% support for the Pelosi-Obama tax-and-spend agenda in her false attack ad."
 
In the ad, Democrat Roxanne Lara attacks Steve Pearce for voting for H Con Res 96. This was a vote between the Republican budget that balanced in ten years and Nancy Pelosi's budget that never balanced and raised taxes by billions on New Mexico families. Ironically both bills contained similar language banning the very things Roxanne Lara cites.
 
Section 608 of H Con Res 96, as passed by the House and voted for by Congressman Pearce clearly states that:
 
- No taxpayer funds may be used to purchase first class airfare or to lease corporate jets for Members of Congress.
- Retirement benefits for Members of Congress should not include free, taxpayer-funded health care for life.
 
MacGregor said, "Roxanne Lara demonstrated that she has no ideas and is only going to campaign on the Pelosi tax-and-spend platform. Looks like New Mexico will see almost 60 days of false negative ads void of anything including the truth from Roxanne Lara.”
