Police: Girl, 5, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Lincoln County

Authorities say a 5-year-old girl has died from injuries in a single vehicle crash north of Roswell, N.M.

New Mexico State Police spokesman Emmanuel Gutierrez said the accident took place Friday in Lincoln County and the girl, identified as Jolysa Cerezo, was ejected from the vehicle. She died while being airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

According to investigators, a 2003 Lincoln Navigator driven by 34-year-old Stephanie Delara, of Andrews, Texas, drifted off the road and overturned multiple times on US 285.

Officials say Delara was extricated and airlifted to UNM Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Authorities say 3-year-old Deveney Cerezo was transported to a Roswell hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the children weren't wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol and speeding are suspected as contributing factors.
