A Roosevelt County man has been sentenced to a maximum term of 18 years on his conviction for child abuse resulting in great bodily harm.
The 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office says 31-year-old Cody Schattschneider of Portales was sentenced Tuesday in a case involving a 4-month-old child who was in his care when the incident occurred in December 2012.
The District Attorney's Office says the child suffered a broken arm and a fractured skull and had bleeding and swelling of the brain.
