Prosecution Rests In Deming Gun Raid Case

The prosecution has rested its case against a New Mexico family accused of selling weapons to Mexican drug cartels.  The defense team for the Reese family will begin to present their case Monday.

Rick Reese, owner of New Deal Shooting Sports in Deming, testified this week that he had no suspicions that the firearms bought by undercover federal agents at his store last year were purportedly bound for Mexico.

He is expected to continue testifying Monday, where he and his wife, Terri, and their sons, Ryin and Remington, have been on trial on charges that they sold assault rifles and ammunition to people who had indicated the materials were bound for Mexico to battle the La Sinaloa drug cartel.
