Recycling Changes

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – The City of Las Cruces is making some major changes to its recycling program.

Starting January 15th .city residents are asked to take their yard waste to the old Foothills Landfill off Lohman Avenue and Sonoma Ranch Boulevard.

The Foothills Landfill is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am - 3:00pm.

The Recycling Center on Amador, will no longer accept yard waste as of February 28th.

The City will also eliminate the Office Paper Route for businesses that use office paper collection. Businesses may be able to order a six yard recycling container for $30 a month which includes unlimited pickup. Recycled paper may also be dropped off at any recycling drop off center throughout the City.

The city says .the changes are necessary to prepare for a regional recycling effort throughout the area.
