Las Cruces, NM – Between 1992 and 2003, over 300 young women had been murdered or abducted in Juarez, Chihuahua City, El Paso and Las Cruces. Today, that number officially stands at over 450. Although many have been accused of these crimes, the murders and abductions continue. Artist Irene Simmons and the Las Cruces community came together to create an instillation commemorating the search for justice for the women. As KRWG's Lily Olivas reports, the instillation will kick off next week's J. Paul Taylor Symposium for Social Justice at New Mexico State University.
